Pudue LaCava hosted the Lincoln High Class of 1954 “Nite at the Movies” committee at her Mt. Vernon Drive home on Thursday, October 20, at 4p.m. The session began with lunch provided by Ann Amadio, Paul Abraham, Arlene “Pinky” Maielli, James Gillespie, Clemmy Sirimarco, Ilene Gardner, and LaCava. A pumpkin dessert celebrated the upcoming Halloween, and serving was done by Gardner and LaCava.
Abraham conducted the business session that followed. He confirmed the site arrangement for the July 15 event. Gillespie reported on fund raising and distributed tickets for October. November tickets will be available from any committee member. Sirimarco presented the financial reports. Maielli reported on menu and good presentation to be made. Gardner previewed the decor for the movie theme and items that she is preparing for the event. A discussion was held on possible contests in keeping with the 1950-1955 movie era. All classmates will be advised by the flyer/invitation that will be mailed January, 2017.
LaCava reported on correspondences received from classmates. She noted the passing of Bonnie (Graham) Kirklet, who served as the Southern Chairman for the 1954 committee. Amadio will handle the reservation desk and conduct all door duties. all planning was presented and work will continue on a monthly basis.
The next meeting will be the annual committee Christmas Dinner at the LaCava residence on Thursday, December 1, at 2p.m.
