Francis E. “Pete” Dawso, 85

Francis E. “Pete” Dawso, 85, of North Sewickley Township, (Beaver Falls), passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, November 8 2016 at Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Pittsburgh on October 19 1931 to the late John J. Dawso, and the late Mary M. Fahey Dawso.
He served in the Korean War in the US Army , as a corporal in the Corps of Engineers, serving mainly at Seoul. He later received his degree in accounting from Robert Morris University.
From 1968-2000, he lived in the Philadelphia area , working in accounting for the Salvation Army, and as business manager for the Friends Neighborhood Guild. While there, he was an active member of Oreland Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon, trustee, and church treasurer.
After his retirement, he came to this area in 2000, and was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church..
Pete enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and traveling. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren.
Pete is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beryl Ellis Dawso, whom he married December 10 1966.
He is also survived by four daughters: Kimberly (and Stephen) Albert of Pittsburgh; Bonnie MacRoy in Ohio; Tracy Fox and Sharon Dawso, M.D., both of North Sewickley.
Several grandchildren survive, including: Jessica, Jeremy, Jamey, Jennifer, Nicholas, Emily, and Julia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and one brother, Vincent (and Shirley) Dawso of McKees Rocks PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers: Marie Weber, Rose Rocco, Clare Harkins, Bernadette Zeiger; and John A., Thomas, Louis, and James Dawso.
No public visitation is planned.
A Celebration of Life service (public) is planned for Saturday, November 12 , 2016, at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at Christ Presbyterian Church, Spring Avenue at Fourth Street, Ellwood City, with his pastor, Rev. R. Tod Custer, officiating.   The TURNER FUNERAL HOME , 500 6th Street, Ellwood City, is entrusted with the  arrangements.
Burial will be in Slippery Rock Church Cemetery, Wayne Twp.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Christ Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 325 Spring Avenue , Ellwood City PA 16117, or to the Salvation Army, 1060 McNeilly Road, Pittsburgh PA 15226.
