Ongoing Criminal Mischief Complaints
Along with the several previous reports of criminal mischief activity that has been reported recently, according to the police reports there has been another two incidents located in Ellwood over the past week:
According to the police report, on October 27, officers received a complaint for two suspicious males looking into residents windows on Sunset Blvd. in Ellwood. The caller advised officers that the two males had tried to enter into his rear gated patio and when he yelled at them they ran away. The caller further stated that when he left the residence about an hour after the incident he saw the same two males looking around his neighbors house and when the males saw him they again fled. No suspects were found by the time officers arrived.
According to the police report, on October 29, officers received a criminal mischief complaint on Pittsburgh Circle. The victim stated that between Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 in the early hours of the night, unknown actors were shooting paintballs at the residents house and vehicle. There was visible damage to the front screen door in the estimated amount of $50, the home owners vehicle, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, was shot in the rear back hatch window but it didn’t appear that any damage had occurred. Further investigation pending.
Man Leaves Public Bathroom a Bloody Mess
According to the police report, on October 26, officers were dispatched to the 7 Eleven on North St. after a worker called and stated an unknown male stumbled out of the bathroom after occupying it for roughly a half of an hour. The caller went into the restroom after the suspicious man left and discovered bloody paper towels littering the floor. Officers further searched the location and recovered a heroin stamp bag and a black elastic strap in the garbage can. A suspect who may have been involved is being investigated.
Hired Worker Steals $900 Worth of Building Material
According to the police report, on November 2, Ellwood officers were informed of an employee theft. Supposedly, the suspect was hired to start work on a roof located on Second Street, and when he left for the day he took 27 bundles of shingles in an estimated amount of $900.00. A witness to the crime- the homeowners brother, stated he watched the worker load the shingles into the bed of his truck and told him “you did not see me doing this”. The worker was contacted by police officials who questioned him about the incident and he did admit to stealing the shingles. Police are following up with the case.
