Bad Check

According to the criminal complaint, Donald A. Mitcheltree Jr., 33, of West Pittsburg, is facing charges for passing a bad check after he passed an invalid check to Feezle’s Auto Wrecking on February 1, 2016, in the amount of $275.34, which was returned with a bank fee of $15.00 along with a certified letter holding a fee of $6.74. No restitution was paid to the victim. The total amount of damages concludes at $297.08.

Employee Theft

According to the criminal complaint, Melissa Mae Aiken, 29, of Ellwood, is facing charges of theft by unlawful taking. The incident occurred on October 27 after officers were dispatched to the Ellport Junction in reference to an employee theft. Aiken took $500.00 from the evening shifts money drop and $220.00 out of the register while the other worker in the building went outside to take the garbage out. The owner of the store reviewed the surveillance video which showed Aiken remove the money and leave the store while the other worker was taking out the trash. The total amount of the theft was $720.00.

Forgery

A few weeks ago we brought you a story that stated a woman passed on counterfeit $10.00 bills at Pete’s Uptown and B&B Mini Market in Ellwood. The woman, identified as Danielle Nicole Brunner, 31, of Zelienople, is being charged with one count of forgery, one count of possessing instruments of crime and one count of theft by deception.
