The Ellwood City United Fund held its annual “Get Acquainted Mixer” at Nico Lucianos Café on Wampum avenue last Tuesday evening.
Over 60 invited guest and service agencies enjoyed special prepared refreshments, a silent auction and door prizes. Connie MacDonald, president
of the United Fund introduced city and county guest that were in attendance. MacDonald stated that the Ellwood City Community is always ready
to support and help our neighbors that maybe going through rough times . MacDonald then introduced Andy Kindle, treasurer, who stated the goal for
fund raising for 2017 is $50,000.00. Kindle recognized Louise Carroll, who has written the United Fund newspaper articles for the last 20 years.
Also, he gave a special thank you to the Wolves club, Lions club, and the Rotary club who made a donation from the ticket sales for The Octoberfest.
The service agencies that are funded by the United Fund were introduced by Kindle and asked to describe the special work they do in the Ellwood City
area.

The evening concluded with directors “Doc” Barsotti, and Lori Dunham passing out door prizes and gifts from the silent auction. The directors for the Ellwood
City United Fund thanked everyone for there continued efforts to provide caring help to our community. The mixer was the kick-off for the annual United Fund
campaign whose goal is to raise $50,000.00 to be distributed in 2017.
