We would like to remind residents of the upcoming Yard Waste Pick up Days that will take place in the upcoming weeks. Yard Waste will take place the week of October 16th –October 22nd and the week of October 30th through November 4th. The final yard waste pick up for 2016 will be the week of November 14th through the 18th. The Yard Waste and Recycling Calendar can be found on the Ellwood City Borough Webpage, www.ellwoodcityborough.com. Please select the LIVE tab and go to Recycling/Trash and you can then select the calendars and review information regarding the subjects.
Borough residents are also provided the following recommendation. If a resident has extra yard waste that does not fit into a container, it is recommended that they bundle and tie branches together. The branch bundles can be no longer than 4 ft. and should be placed next to the container. For all other extra yard waste, residents may place these items in the brown biodegradable bags that may be purchased at the Borough Building or most hardware stores. Please do not place the items in plastic bags as the waste dump sites for yard waste materials will not accept these items.
When you visit the website, all residents are urged to enroll in the CodeRED program for emergency and other type alerts. The program is free.
