Dawna L. Latimer, 86, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, October 2 2016 in the Ellwood City Hospital.
She was born in New Castle on July 2 1930 to the late Russell and Ella Thompson Kemp.
Dawna graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, in the class of 1948.
She worked from 1966-1992 as a school secretary/clerk for the Ellwood City School District, mainly at Walnut Ridge School.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ellwood City.
She enjoyed traveling and golfing, and spending time with her family and friends. Her family was her life.
Dawna was married to William J. “Bud” Latimer in 1949. He survives.
She is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, W. Russell and Rosemary Latimer of Ellwood City.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Dustin and Jennifer Latimer of New Brighton; Sean and Crystal Latimer, and Rachelle and Robert Rozzo, all of Ellwood City. Four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents, Dawna was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharyn L. “Shari” Latimer in 1992, and her brother, Wayne C. Kemp.
There is no public visitation, and private memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday afternoon, October 5, in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 500 Sixth Street, Ellwood City, with Pastor Angelique Bradford of First United Methodist Church officiating.
