Ellwood Resident Gets “Trumped” By Mysterious Caller

According to the police report, on September 17, officers received a complaint that a resident had their “Hillary Clinton for President” sign taken down and replaced with a Donald Trump sign after being lured to a fake voter registration event. The victim said she had received a call from “Sean Jackson” on the 15th who claimed to be a Democratic committee member; the caller asked the victim if she could participate in a voter registration event to be held Saturday September 17. The victim agreed but when she arrived there was no event going on. When the victim got home she discovered that the Hillary sign in her yard had been ripped out and replaced with a Trump sign. Shortly after being home, her husband got a call from this same man asking why he didn’t see her at the event.

Borough Credit Card Fraud

According to the police report, on September 16 officers received a complaint by the Borough Manager’s secretary that the Borough’s Home Depot credit card had fraudulent charges accumulated in the amount of $861.84 for a saw and stand. The purchase was made over the phone and delivered for pick up at a store in California. It’s under further investigation.

Ellwood Residents Leave Garbage Scattered in the Veteran Memorial Parking Lot

According to the police report, on September 17 at approximately 12 in the morning police observed two vehicles in the Veterans Memorial Swimming Pool parking lot leaving behind noticeable amounts of garbage, consisting of pizza boxes, empty pop bottles, and paper plates. After speaking with the driver of one of the vehicles who admitted to leaving the trash, officers asked the litterers to pick up their trash.
