Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
Monday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a new concept in helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. During the months of June and July, these sessions will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays instead of Wednesdays because of the library’s Summer Reading Program activities. Call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.
Tuesday, July 26, at 11:30 a.m. – Creative Writing Workshop for students in 7th grade and up. The group meets twice each month to share their work and discuss writing tips and techniques. New members are always welcome, so call the library for more information.
Wednesday, July 27, at 6:00 p.m. — “Movie Night for Adults.” These movie nights are held monthly and feature new-to-DVD films. All area adults are welcome to attend at no charge. Refreshments are served. Call the library now for more information or to find out the title of the movie to be shown.
Thursday, July 28, at 6:00 p.m. — Adult Knitting Group. This group meets year-around to work on individual projects and socialize with others who love knitting. Members provide their own materials. New members are always welcome, so call the library now for more information.
A “Family Movie Night” is planned for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 4, for all area children and their families. The full-length feature film is family oriented. Refreshments are served. Since this is a “family night event,” all children must be accompanied by an adult. Call the library for more information or to discover the title of the film to be shown.
“Fairy Tale Theater,” a program designed for preschoolers and early elementary-aged children, will be held on three consecutive Thursday evenings in August: the 11th, 18th and 25th. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. and features puppet plays presented by teen performers. Only floor seating is available. No registration is required, so call the library for more information.
