Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
Monday, July 18, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a new concept in helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. During the months of June and July, these sessions will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays instead of Wednesdays because of the library’s Summer Reading Program activities. Monday, July 18, at 1:30 p.m. – Afternoon Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “The Secret Wisdom of the Earth,” by Christopher Scotton. New members are always welcome. Call the library for more information.
Tuesday, July 19, at 1:00 p.m. – Library Anniversary Committee members will meet to discuss upcoming activities and fundraisers. New members are always welcome, so call the library now for more information.
Tuesday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m. – Students in the library’s “Puppet Theater Workshop” will perform their plays to family members and friends. The young people have been rehearsing – using marionettes and puppets – all summer long. The event is free and open to the public. Call the library for more information.
Wednesday, July 20, at 10:00 a.m. – Students participating in either the 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. Wednesday morning Summer Reading Program will all gather at 10:00 a.m. for a special puppet show, presented by the “Puppet Theater Workshop” members. The event will also feature other activities as well as refreshments. Call the library for more information.
Wednesday, July 20, at 12:00 Noon – “The Book Bunch,” a book discussion group for students who have completed 3rd grade. The group meets once each month during the summer to discuss the book the group has read and to enjoy a pizza lunch at the library. Call the library for more information.
Thursday, July 21, at 6:00 p.m. — Adult Knitting Group. This group meets year-around to work on individual projects and socialize with others who love knitting. Members provide their own materials. New members are always welcome, so call the library now for more information.
“Movie Night for Adults.” These movie nights are held monthly and feature new-to-DVD films. All area adults are welcome to attend at no charge. Refreshments are served. The next movie night is scheduled for Wednesday, July 27 at 6:00 p.m. Call the library for more information or to find out the title of the movie to be shown.
