Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 held their monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 8 at 5 p.m. at Pizza Joe’s. The session began with a pizza luncheon hosted by President Clemmy Sirimarco and served by Louis DiFrischia and Jackie Perno. Trustee Patty Regna voiced the invocation.
The business session followed with financial reports by Treasurer Louise Vitullo. She welcomed Anita Chaffin, a long time member, who has been unable to attend meetings due to other commitments. Vitullo reminded all insured members to review their beneficiary information and to contact her for any changes to be made. Sirimarco recognized Orator Valerie Valentino and her scholarship committee, DiFrischia and Trustee Pudue LaCava, for their outstanding work on awarding the 2016 Corona Memorial scholarships to Christopher Maielli and Jordan Dobbin.
Mistress of Ceremony Mary Quintanilla presented pictures from the year’s meetings and events for the members to take, and she also has compiled an album of pictures for the lodge history. Vice-President Ann Butchelli reported on the 100th anniversary project that she continues. She welcomes any pictures and information clippings that members would like to share.
Sirimarco distributed June fundraiser tickets and noted that fund raising will continue through July and August without monthly meetings. Valentino presented each person in attendance with a note pad and lottery ticket. A social followed conducted by Valentino, Quintanilla, DiFrischia, Mary Jane Folino and Rosetta Chontos. The next monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. at Pizza Joe’s.
