Mayor Presents First “Beautification Award”

For the past five years Mayor Anthony J. Court has presented to area residents a special “Beautification Award” sign and an area restaurant gift certificate to nominees for the way they present their gardening talents and take special care of how their properties look during the summer growing season.

On Tuesday, Mayor Court presented the first of five Beautification Award Signs and a restaurant gift certificate to Beverly and Sam Greenberg of 717 Jefferson Ave. These residents have been nominated by either a family member, a friend and/or a neighbor who felt that considerable time and effort was put into making their home surroundings extra special.

The second nominee has already been nominated, but if you feel that there is someone you know who should also receive such an award, please contact the mayor by stopping in to see him or by phone at his office, or on Facebook. There are many worthy residents but in order to receive the award and gift certificate, they must be nominated by someone through the Mayor’s Office.
