Dorothy A. “Dot” Moyer, 78, of Florence St., Ellwood City (Ellport) passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital following a brief illness.
Born July 30, 1937 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Dorothy (Randazzo) Custozzo. She was married for 52 years to Frederick O. Moyer as they were married September 2, 1963. He survives.
Dot graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955. She formerly worked at Loccisano’s and also as the receptionist for Dr. James McLaughlin. Dot was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in New Castle where she was a former member of the Alter Guild. She enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen at the church and also baking.
In addition to her husband, Fred, survivors include two sons, Paul (Kristen) Moyer of Minnesota, Robert (Heather) Moyer of Monaca; sister, Marianne O’Neill of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two brothers, Carl (Eleanor) Custozzo of Ellwood City and Steve Custozzo of Jacksonville, Florida.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary in infancy and Josephine McLaughlin; and two brothers, Angelo and Anthony “Tony” Custozzo.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday June 9 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the Trinity Episcopal Church in New Castle with Pastor Erin Betz Shank officiating.
