The Riverside baseball team had a fantastic start to the Class AA playoff season. In five innings, they mercy ruled New Brighton 10-0.
A strong offense consistently got on base throughout the game. Austin Dambach and Cristian Cicchinelli each had two runs while Cicchinelli, Braden Bentel and Michael Boswell contributed three hits. Cicchinelli, Ricky Wass and Dylan Speicher each had two RBIs.
On the mound, Boswell ensured New Brighton never had a chance with 10 strikeouts and only one hit against.
The team, which is 17-2 overall, is ranked number two in the WPIAL. The next round of playoffs will be against Steel Valley (11-5).
