Rose J. Bartley, 89, of Pershing St., Ellwood City passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at her residence.
Born April 5, 1927 on Division Ave. in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Adele Funari Battilocchi. She was married for 60 years to Clyde M. Bartley as they just celebrated their anniversary on April 28. He survives.
Rose graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945 and then attended Geneva College. She first worked as a secretary at the Aetna Standard. Rose then became the Vice President of Clyde M. Bartley Construction Co for many years. Rose was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Faith Love Circle. She was also a member of the Ellwood City Eastern Star, the Ellwood City Municipal Womens and the Ellwood City Hospital Auxiliary. Rose’s most cherished time was spent with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Clyde, survivors include a son, Brad A.(Sandra L.) Bartley of Chippewa; two grandchildren, Aaron P. Bartley, Jessica L. Bartley; a great granddaughter, Madison L. Miller; two sisters, Leah K. Toth of Chippewa, Celeste A. LaBate of Patterson Heights; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Ruhe and Lena Battilocchi.
Friends will be received at the Trinity Lutheran Church from 10 am until the time of the Memorial Service at noon on Thursday, May 19. Pastor Peggy Suhr-Barkley will officiate the services. Interment will be in the Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.
