Jerome “Jerry” A. Ambrose, 83, of Paden Road, North Beaver Twp. passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Jameson Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 14, 1932 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he was the son of the late Henry R. and Beatrice Elizabeth Carkhuff Ambrose. He was married for 63 years to Delores “Dolly” McConnell Ambrose as they were married December 5, 1952. She survives.
Jerome retired from Wampum Hardware. He was a member and former Trustee at the Moravia Presbyterian Church. Jerome was an avid hunter and fisherman. His most cherished time was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Delores, survivors include three sons, Gary (Tammy) Ambrose of Wampum, James (Sandy) Ambrose of Poland, Ohio, Randy (Diana) Ambrose of Bessemer; daughter, Carolyn (Mark) Anderson of Bessemer; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
The last of his family, Jerome was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street 25 Wampum. Friends will also be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. Jerome’s nephews, Rev. Eugene McConnell and Rev. Kevin McConnell will officiate the services. Interment will follow in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
