Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
Tuesday, March 8, at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. — “Family Laptime,” an interactive story time for babies as young as 6 months old as well as for toddlers and preschoolers. Featured are stories, songs, finger plays and more. This spring session runs through April 19. Registration is requested, so call the library now at 724-758-6458 for more information.
Tuesday, March 8, at 4 p.m. – The library’s Anniversary Committee will meet to discuss upcoming events, including an “Author’s Fair” celebration scheduled for April 29. Call the library for more information.
Wednesday, March 9, at 10 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a new concept in helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. Those attending may take their own supplies or use coloring pages supplied by the library. There will also be a limited number of colored pencils available for use. Thursday, March 10, at 10 a.m. — Preschool Story Time, a program designed for preschoolers 3 to 5 years of age. Featured are stories, songs, finger plays and more. This spring session will run through April 21. Registration is requested, so call the library now for more information.
Thursday, March 10, at 3 p.m. – “Hooked on Books,” a book discussion group for students in 6th through 8th grades. The group will discuss the book, “Peak,” by Roland Smith. Call the library for more information.
Thursday, March 10, at 6 p.m. — Adult Knitting Group. This group meets weekly with members providing their own materials and working on individual projects. New members are always welcome. Call the library for more information.
A “St. Patrick’s Day Party,” designed for families with small children, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17. Games, crafts, refreshments and more will be featured, so call now to register or for more information.
“Movie Nights for Adults” are under way for the 2016 year, and featured are new-to-DVD films. Movies will be shown each month, and refreshments are served. The next movie will be shown on Wednesday, March 30, at 6 p.m. Call the library for more information or to discover the title of the film to be shown.
The library is hosting an “Author Fair” on Friday, April 29, at the library. Area residents who know of someone local who has published a book are asked to call with the name and contact information of the author. The library is hoping to locate as many local published authors as possible for the event.
