Joseph Scala, 79, of Larchwood Drive, New Galilee passed away unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 29, 2016 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.
Born June 11, 1936 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Norge Scala.
Joe retired from B & W Steel after 19 years of service in the Hot Mill Works in Beaver Falls. He also farmed for many years. Joe enjoyed gardening and his dogs.
Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Greco and Margaret (Earl) Klien, both of West Virginia; two brothers, Eugene (Margaret) Scala of North Sewickley Twp., James Scala of Beaver Falls; two nieces and two nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Florence Keppen Scala; two sisters, Pauline Bigley, Phillis McAnlis; and two brothers, William and John Scala.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home in Wampum on Wednesday, March 2 at 11 a.m. Joe’s brother in law, Rev. Earl Klien will officiate.
Interment will follow in Oak Park Cemetery.
