Barbara M. Walker, 80, of Longvue Ave. Ellwood City (North Sewickley Twp.) passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at Cranberry Place following an extended battle with diabetes.
Born Sept. 20, 1935 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William and Harriet Ellen Wardle Maronde. She was married for 50 years to Dale Walker who survives.
Barbara graduated from East High School in 1953 where she had the leading role in many high school plays. She worked in the offices at Century Food Market and National Tea Company, both in Youngstown. She retired from Keystone Bakery in West Bridgewater. Barbara was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed music, attending plays and going to movies. She also was an avid reader and loved to cook.
In addition to her husband, Dale, survivors include a sister, Janet Lee Ohlringer of Austintown, Ohio; and brother in law, Robert G. Walker of Dayton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, in laws, daughter, Lottie Sue Walker, and a brother in law, Donald G. Walker.
Funeral Services for Barbara will be held at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ellwood City on Friday, Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. with her pastor, Rev. Peggy Suhr Barkley officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 207 Spring Ave. Ellwood City, PA 16117.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.
