Joseph John Galmarini, 83

Joseph John Galmarini, 83, of Galmarini Lane, Wampum passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at the Providence Care Center where he was a resident for the past 29 months.

Born Sept. 18, 1932 in New Castle, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Josephine Timpolio Galmarini. Joe was married for 62 years to Norma Montani Galmarini who survives.

Joe retired in 1984 from Babcock & Wilcox where he was an inspector. He was a member of the former St. Monica’s Church in Wampum. Joe served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the PNA, SOI, Hungarian Home and the IMBS Clubs. Joe enjoyed many hobbies, especially boating and fishing in Canada, New York and locally. He was an avid Steeler and Pirate fan. Following his retirement, Joe enjoyed traveling and the “slots”.

In addition to his wife, Norma, survivors include three daughters, Debra (Dennis) Glasser of Wampum, Angela Bionda of Beaver, Anita (Gary) Morini of New Castle; son, John (Judy) Galmarini of Wampum; sister, Elizabeth Augustine of New Castle, six grandchildren, Natalie, Camille, and Joseph John “Joey” Galmarini, Gary Michael Morini Jr, Tyler Morini, and Derrian Stewart; dear niece, Donna and two nephews, Chuck and Tom; and one great-granddaughter that he was blessed to meet, Cali Ashton Morini.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jeanette Navarra.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday Dec. 14 from 1 to 3 and from 5 until the time of the Blessing Service at 7 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main St. Wampum.

Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and gratefulness to all those as Providence Care Center and Grane Hospice that cared for Joe and touched him and his families hearts. A special thank you to Dr. Jarod Stragand.
