Over the last 25 years, the Ellwood City United Fund has collected and provided over $1.6 million in funds to our service agencies. In order to help our agencies, the United Fund released the last allotment of 2015 two months early.
“The total amount of funds released to the United Fund agencies for 2015 was $49,800,” Treasurer Andy Kindle said.
All funds collected by the United Fund stay in the Ellwood City area. It is only by the generosity of the community that the United Fund agencies are able to serve our neighbors and friends who are in need and who are going through difficult times in their lives. it is not the amount you donate but that you give. Your donation whether large or small will directly benefit those close to you and others in our community.
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are at.
“This has been the philosophy of the United Fund for the last 25 years,” Kindle said.
The United Fund serves the Ellwood City community and area all year long and has an annual.l fund drive October through December of each year. The board of directors serves with no pay and volunteers to help the community.
Why is it important for the United Fund to do fundraising to support the service agencies?
- To help the agencies maintain a presence in Ellwood City and maintain service to those in need.
- To spare the agencies from having to take time or money in an attempt to raise funds.
