Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 held their Columbus Day Dinner on Tuesday, October 13, 5 p.m. at the Wolverine Restaurant.
Treasurer Louise Vitullo and her member daughter Patti Kuhn registered the attendees upon arrival. Trustee Pudue La Cava directed seating and ushered the guests. Orator Valerie Valentino provided and presented favors of a pen with light and a 2016 pocket planner to each person in attendance. She was assisted by the sentinel Lois Di Frischia. Master of Ceremonies Mary Quintanilla photographed the event.
President Clemmy Sirimarco voiced the welcome expressing the honoring of Christopher Columbus for his determination to find the new world that brings us together this day. Vice-President Ann Butchelli led a moment of silence in memory of and in honor of deceased sister members all families and all military personnel. Trustee Patty Regna voiced the invocation and dinner was served by the staff. The menu of salad, penne pasta, meatballs, chicken marsala, roasted potatoes and dessert of Italian pastries was greatly enjoyed.
President Sirimarco recognized all the officers who served as the committee for their efforts. A social followed with Kuhn conducting a 50-50 raffle, won by Secretary Mary Ann Sirimarco. Valentino donated a Halloween bucket filled with treats for door prize and La Cava was the winner. President Sirimarco distributed October fund raising tickets. She also presented the 2016 Sons of Italy Fund Raiser Calendars that are available for purchase by contacting her. Bingo conducted by Valentino, DiFrischia, and Quintanilla ended the festivities.
The next monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 11 5 p.m. at Pizza Joes. Planning for a Christmas dinner will be the agenda.
