Tonight the 49th Annual Holy Redeemer Parish Bazaar returns to Ellwood City for four nights of rides, games, food and entertainment.
From Wednesday, July 29 through Saturday, Aug. 1, the Holy Redeemer parking lot will be packed with visitors enjoying all the Bazaar has to offer. As the period of incessant rain now seems to have ceased, this year’s Bazaar will benefit from sunny, warm, and dry weather.
Last year, the Bazaar Committee shortened the Bazaar from four days instead of the traditional five. The four day precedent will be continued this year.
Everyone’s favorites will be returning, and there will be some new additions as well. Rides will again be provided by Thomas Family Amusements of Connellsville. It will cost $2 to ride one ride or a ride-all-night pass is available to purchase for $12.
To escape the heat and enjoy air conditioning, there will be bingo every night inside of the Catholic Center.
The entertainment/dining tent will return for its third year. Visitors can enjoy a BBQ rib dinner Friday night and lamb dinner Saturday night both starting at 5 p.m.
All of the popular food items will return, including Pepperoni puffs, meatball sandwiches, fish sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, eggplant sandwiches, fried dough, red/white pizza, pizza greens, french fries, kielbasa & kraut sandwiches, and pierogies.
The kitchen will be open to the public every night from 4 to 10 p.m. You are also able to order whole pizzas starting at 11 a.m. by calling 724-752-9350.
A new feature will be a kid’s corner. For a single fee, children under seven will receive a wrist band allowing them to play games all night long. There will be two new games as well: pop a shot basketball and pirate cannon shot!
Entertainment will be provided nightly. The schedule is as follows:
- Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. – Franco’s DJ & Karaoke Services
- Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m. – Vic Rangel
- Friday, 7 to 9 p.m. – The Doug Butchy Trio
- Saturday, 7 to 9 p.m. – The River Blackwater Band
There will be three raffle drawings of $5,000- one on Friday and two on Saturday. If the winner is present, there is an additional $250 award.
“The Bazaar helps the parish financially,” Kay Bellissimo, of the Bazaar Committee, said. “It brings parishioners together to work toward a common goal. We hope it brings fun to the community.”
Admission for the Bazaar is free. The kitchen opens at 4:00 p.m. every day and the rides are from 6:00 to 10:00. There will be parking available in the Lincoln High School parking lot.
