CCBC Appoints Industry Expert to Lead Process Technology Program and Adds Daytime Classes

Monaca, PA –Michael Martino, a CCBC alumnus and Hopewell Township native, has been appointed to a full-time process technology faculty and leadership position at Community College of Beaver County. Martino brings with him 40 years of experience in oil refining, including 25 years of process operations experience. On December 4th, BodyShop Group Fitness held their Kid Fit-Mas event at their space in the Creekside Commons at 324 Wampum Ave. The event was attended by over 30 children from the ages of 1-10 years old. The owners of the fitness studio set up obstacle courses requiring the children to complete circuits of exercises including jumps, push-ups, crunches, hula hooping, running, and climbing. Ellwood City Hospital Behavioral Health Unit will be hosting a QPR training course for Lawrence County residents interested in combating the 10th leading cause of death in the nation, suicide. QPR stands for question, persuade, and refer; these are the three basic principals taught by professionals on how to potentially save a life. As Ellwood prepares for the holiday season, remember that free holiday parking is in effect for all Ellwood City parking meters on Lawrence Ave., Bell Ave., Crescent Ave., 5th St., 6th St., 7th St., and Beaver Ave. for a maximum of two hours until December 31. Anyone parked beyond the holiday limit will be subject to a $5.00 parking fine.
