Ellwood City Area School District Hires Law Firm to Collect Delinquent Accounts

According to a press release made available by the Ellwood City School District, Portnoff Law Associates has been hired to collect its delinquent accounts. In an effort to maximize the collection of its unpaid school real estate taxes, Ellwood City Area School District has hired the law firm of Portnoff Law Associates, Ltd. to collect its delinquent accounts. Ellwood City Police Department Receives New Weapons

On December 14th, 2021, the Ellwood City Police Department put into service 5 new shotguns and 5 new AR-15 patrol rifles. The guns were purchased with funds from Drug Seizure Money. These new and improved weapons have replaced weapons that were 25 years old. The new weapons will help the Officers better protect and serve the community. Club Hope Foundation Receives $800.00 Donation

On December 16th, 2021 Mayor Anthony J. Court and Officers from Ellwood City Police Department presented Cara Atkinson, the founder of Club Hope, with $800.00. The money was donated to the Officers for their participation in “No Shave November”. Officers are hoping to make “No Shave November” an annual event so that they are able to raise money for Club Hope Foundation. Cherie Christine Hoover, 49, of Fisher Drive died Saturday, December 4, 2021 at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh. She was born on January 19, 1972 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania a daughter of Kenneth Schwartz and his wife Mary, they survive in Wampum and the daughter of the late Cheryl (Hardie) Schwartz. She married Ronnie L. Hoover on September 14, 1996, he survives in Portersville, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Hoover was the owner/operator of Liberty Tax Service for nine years. Community Helps BC3 Create, Distribute 45 Meals for Thanksgiving

$2.5 Million In Grant Funding Distributed to Area Projects

HARRISBURG – The Commonwealth Financing Authority has awarded $2.5 million in grants to four projects located in Beaver, Butler and Lawrence counties, according to Sen. Elder Vogel (R-47).
