Ralph Melfi Jr., 82, formerly of Mt. Vernon Dr., Ellwood City passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Community Living Center of the Veterans Hospital in Butler. Born February 7, 1935 in Wampum, he was the eldest son of the late Ralph and Philomena Barile Melfi Sr. He was married to Kay Takako Melfi for 40 years when she passed away January 4, 2000. Junior graduated from Wampum High School where he played basketball and earned an athletic scholarship to attend Youngstown State University. Born August 30, 1939 in West Pittsburg, he was the son of the late Joseph F. Butera Sr. and Margaret Woods Butera of West Pittsburg. Born December 1, 1951 in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Job C. Beitsch and Mildred Virginia Long. He was married for 46 years to Patty A. Gahagan Beitsch who survives. He died from injuries received after being struck by an automobile while bicycling. Born June 14, 1999 in Ellwood City, he was the son of Jon M. and Cindy Wise Bobin. Born September 10, 1947, Tim was the son of Robert W. and Helen Bauder Powell of Ellwood City. He was married for 46 years to Pamela Sewall Powell as they were married February 20, 1971.
