AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Anthony Cirelli, 33, of Ellwood City is charged with Aggravated Assault after an incident on May 17th. According to a criminal complaint, police received a call for a male that was assaulted with a ball bat at a residence on Franklin Avenue. According to the complaint, a female resident was at the property when Cirelli struck the male victim in the head with a bat. Lawrence County To Receive Funding From Marcellus Drilling Impacts

HARRISBURG – Rep. Marla Brown (R-Lawrence) today announced nearly $353,000 in impact fees paid by Marcellus Shale drilling companies will benefit residents of the 9th Legislative District. For the reporting year of 2022, natural gas producers paid nearly $279 million in impact fees statewide, for a total of $2.5 billion over the past 11 years. Application Deadline Nears For Record 155 BC3 Scholarships

Six scholarships administered by the Butler County Community College Education Foundation will debut in the 2023-2024 academic year and increase to 155 the record number of named financial awards available to BC3 students, a college administrator said. Students registered in fall 2023 credit programs can apply for a scholarship until July 1, said Bobbi Jo Cornetti, development coordinator of the foundation that distributed 148 named financial awards and a record $292,123 to BC3 students in the 2022-2023 academic year. STATE CHAMPS! Unbeaten Riverside Captures PIAA Class-3A Championship

A pair of brothers and a sophomore sensation helped the Riverside Panthers lay claim to a record setting year on Thursday, defeating Camp Hill 4-0 to earn its PIAA Class-3A Championship. Brothers Mitch and Hunter Garvin accounted for all four RBIs in the victory while sophomore pitcher Christian Lucarelli fired 6.2 innings of two hit baseball for the unbeaten Panthers.
