The Ellwood City golf team returned to action less than 24 hours after picking up their first victory on the season in section play as they took on the Beaver from Delmar on Wednesday and collected its second victory of the young season. Sophomore Jordan Keller continued to his phenomenal early season play with a round of 36 to lead the Wolverines to its 201-219 victory over the Bobcats. Borough of Ellwood City Announces 2023 Trick or Treat Night

Mayor Anthony J. Court has set Trick or Treat night for the Borough of Ellwood City. The Mayor set the day and time for Tuesday, October 31st at 5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. Mayor Court stated that he likes to have Trick or Treat right on Halloween night. “Have a fun Trick or Treat night but always remember to be safe,” says Court. “Children should only go to well lit homes and be extra careful while crossing streets.” The Ellwood City Police Department will be out to treat the kids. Historical Society Sponsors Hack Wilson Celebration, Marker To Be Unveiled

An Ellwood City legend and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer will be receiving a state historical marker in his honor with a ceremony planned for later this month. While playing for the Chicago Cubs during the 1930 Major League Baseball season, Ellwood City-born Lewis Robert “Hack” Wilson, slugged National League record 56 homeruns, topping Yankees slugger Babe Ruth’s effort that year. Ellwood City Area School District Launches New Website Ahead of 2023-24 School Year

The Ellwood City Area School District has launched a new, redesigned website ahead of the 2023-24 school year. This week Mayor Anthony J. Court presented commendations to a group of individuals who played a part in getting the pickleball park in Ewing Park. 2023 Delmar Golf Course Club Championship Results

The 63rd Annual Delmar Golf Course Club Championship was held August 5th and August 6th, 2023. This year the event featured 63 members and Sam Barry Jr. collected his 11th club championship. Barry, Jr. finished with a two day total of 4 under par, 140 to win by 3 strokes over Broc Boariu and Lino Simeoni. Dave Cappello and Geoffery Bokor captured the A-Flight title while Carson Cappello captured the B-Flight championship. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT: On July 24th at approximately 8:51 p.m., PA State Police responded to a report of theft from a vehicle at McConnells Mill Park, Slippery Rock Township. According to the report, and the 29-year-old female victim from Butler, the driver side front window of a 2008 Jeep was smashed and a small multicolor Grateful Dead danccing bear backpack purse was stolen from the vehicle.
