PHOTOS: Car Crashes Into School Steps

According to the police report, on November 5th at approximately 2:00a.m., an Ellwood officer was monitoring traffic on the corner of Lawrence Ave. and Fourth St. when a black Mercedes C230 sped east on Lawrence Ave. approaching the stop sign on Fourth failing to stop for the sign and then slamming on the brakes to turn sharply into B&B Express’s parking lot to avoid colliding into gas pumps. Former Festival Treasurer Recently Accused of Stealing Funds Now Accused of Bad Check According to the criminal complaint, on Oct. 19, a local landlord reported that she had received a bad check from her tenant, Suzanne Bleakney, 50, of Ellwood City. Suzanne was recently facing charges of theft by unlawful taking and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received, after she accusingly stole upwards of $1650.00 from the Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food, and Entertainment Festival bank account during her time working as the treasurer. The Gazebo located at Five Points in Ewing Park is a result of the Municipal Woman’s Club member’s efforts. It is maintained and cared for by the Municipal Woman’s Club. Riverside Football Student Tickets On Sale

Student tickets for Friday night’s home WPIAL football playoff game against Avonworth will be on sale in the Riverside High School athletic office from 7:15am to 1:00pm only. Tickets will not be on sale during lunches. Tickets will be on sale in the middle school office during lunch times. Pre-sale student tickets are $5.00 if bought in advance. Breaking News: Fire at Breaking Bread

Updated: 10:22a.m. Fire and police officials are currently responding to a fire call located at Breaking Bread in Ellwood. Workers and customers have been evacuated. A fire official said it seems likely that something in the oven caught on fire, however as of now, it appears that little damage has occurred. Update: It was a small fire that was extinguished quickly.
