The Ellwood City Wolverines offense was on display Friday night as the running back duo of Rick Pitrelli and Donavin Chambers combined for five offensive touchdowns on the night while racking up almost 300 offensive yards as well in the Wolverines big defeat of the Wildcats 42-14. Two Riverside Pitchers Combine In Shutout Victory Against Avonworth Riverside Panthers defeated Avonworth 10-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Nick Ottaviani struck out Patrick Gannon to finish off the game, finishing off a phenomenal start by Riverside starter Gunner Boehm. The Panthers fired up the offense in the first inning, and scored two runs when Boehm helped his own cause with a homer. Riverside tallied four runs in the fifth inning. Golf Bash to Benefit Educational Endeavors

The Ellwood City Wolverines are teaming up with Holy Redeemer to host a Golf Bash to benefit educational endeavors. The event will be Saturday, February 1- at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Center from 4-9p.m. Cost is $20 and includes food and refreshments. More information on the flyer below.


Ellwood City Wolverines Lose to Farrell

Although Anthony Roth put 14 points on the scoreboard, Lincoln fell to Farrell 45-43 Wednesday night in non-section play.   Kyi Wright connected on a driving shot with under five seconds the play that turned into the game winner for Farrell. Ellwood City Wolverines scored early in the game, boasting a 19-18 lead at the half, but Farrell ultimately came back for the victory after trailing by three points entering the final frame.  Wright finished with a game-high 21 points for Farrell (10-18 shooting, 8 rebounds). Despite a strong performance from 3-point range from Rick Pitrelli, Ellwood City fell to top-ranked Lincoln Park 64-50 Tuesday Night in Section 1-3A play. Lincoln High Graduate Named to WPCC All-Academic Team

Butler, PA– Madison Morella, a 2017 Lincoln High graduate and freshman on a Butler County Community College volleyball team that in October captured its 14th Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference title since 1977, is one of 19 BC3 fall sports athletes named to the WPCC all-academic team. Lincoln High School Cuts Costs, No More Paper Report Cards

In an attempt to cut thousands in costs, the Ellwood City School Board has decided to stop giving out paper report cards at Lincoln High School, effective with the latest nine-weeks grading period. Parents and guardians are encouraged to instead view their child’s grades through the online platform that is already in place; those without access to the internet or who prefer the paper reports can make individual requests to the school to continue receiving hard copies. This decision will not affect the lower grades and high school students who fail a course will receive a mailing from the guidance…

Ellwood City Wolverines Notch Win Against Mohawk Area

Lincoln won 66-54 against Mohawk Area on Tuesday with the help of Broc Boariu, who scored 22 points. Ellwood City Wolverines pulled away early with a 22-point first quarter after an impressive 22-2 run, eventually claiming a 36-20 lead by halftime. With a field goal percentage of 47% (7-for-15), Boariu had a great game from the field, also sinking 50% (6-for-12) of threes attempted.
