Under each phase is a sub-phase that contributes to a victory, such as passing, rushing, turnovers, tackling, kicking, and punting. Passing has become a focal point for the Wolverines in the past two weeks as Ellwood has had much success in the quick-strike, quick-score type of plays. The Wolverines came into the evening with their backs against the wall – 0-2 on the season, a 14-game losing streak, and more importantly, the defending 3A State Title team was their opponent for week 3.
