VIDEO: Nick Ottaviani Throws a Shutout As Riverside Defeats Avonworth

Nick Ottaviani didn’t allow a single run against Avonworth, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Riverside to a 4-0 victory on Wednesday Riverside opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Riverside. One bright spot for Avonworth was a single by Turner Grau in the fourth inning. Ottaviani earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Riverside. Panthers, Danny Fox Shut Out New Brighton

Danny Fox had all the right stuff on Tuesday for the Riverside Panthers, allowing zero runs and besting New Brighton by a score of 10-0 Riverside tallied five runs in the third inning. Drew Speicher, Brian MacMurdo, Ty Thellman, and Fox each had RBIs in the big inning. Fox was the winning pitcher for Riverside, he went five innings, allowing zero runs on five hits and striking out six. Riverside collected ten hits on the day. EC JR HIGH SOFTBALL TEAM REMAINS UNDEFEATED BEATS MOHAWK 14-0 The offense started out on fire as they plated 13 runs in the first inning on Friday night at Stiefel Park. The game was halted after 5 innings as the mercy rule took effect. Kyla Servick, Kali Barnett, and Grace Balin led the charge with doubles. Ellwood City Wolverines Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Beaver Falls Ellwood City Wolverines defeated Beaver Falls 7-6 in a back-and-forth affair on Wednesday. The game was tied at three with Ellwood City Wolverines batting in the top of the sixth when Jordan Recce reached on a dropped third strike.
