United Fund Annual Campaign

The United Fund will start its annual campaign drive on October 1st for the year 2018. Over the past few years, we find ourselves behind in meeting weekly goals to reach the $50,000.00 that is needed to support the United Fund agencies. We usually receive donations and pledges that equal approximately 80% of what is needed. We would encourage everyone in the Ellwood City area to reflect on what they may share with others who are less fortunate than ourselves, so we can make a difference in their lives. United Fund Kick-Off Event

The Ellwood City United Fund is holding a “Get Acquainted Mixer” from 5pm to 7pm at Nico Luciano’s Cafe located at 324 Wampum Avenue, Ellwood City. Everyone is invited to attend, admission is free, free refreshments and appetizers will be available and there will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. It will take place at Nico Luciano’s café at 324 Wampum Avenue, Ellwood City, Pa from 5pm to 7pm. Hosted will be refreshments, prizes, silent auction, and a period of time for each of you to tell the goal of your agency for the Ellwood City area (brochures, pass outs are welcome). First 2017 United Fund Check Presented to Director of Ellwood Family Center

Andrew Kindle, Treasurer of the Ellwood City United Fund, presented a check to Ricki Coccia, Director of Ellwood Family Center as the first disbursement of collected funds for the year 2017. “All agencies will receive 20% less because of the shortfall in the 2017 campaign,” Kindle said. The United Fund had discussed holding the money for a later disbursement date, but decided that it would cause a hardship on the agencies who really need the funds. United Fund Announces 20% Cut in Allotments to Service Agencies

The Ellwood City United Fund closed the 2017 campaign on January 31, and was $ 9358.00 short of its goal of $ 50,000.00. It was hoped that donations through the spring months would fill the gap created by the shortage of the campaign. This did not happen and it is now approaching the time for the first disbursement of funds to our service agencies. The first disbursement is planned for July 10, 2017. Ellwood City United Fund to Release Funds Early

Connie MacDonald, president of the Ellwood City United Fund, announced on Tuesday, Nov. 10 to the United Fund Agencies that they would receive the last allotment of funds, totaling $25,000, two months early. United Funds’ money is normally released two times a year with the last allotment in January of the next year. The United Fund Board decided because of the budget impasse this would give the United Fund agencies some relief in providing services.
