EC Amateur Baseball Registration

It’s that time of year again – the Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Registration is looking for players for the upcoming season. This year the team will be playing on the newly renovated Friedhoff Field, something that EC Baseball team member Mike Widmaier said the team is looking forward to. “Little League baseball was established in Williamsport, PA in 1939. Youth baseball has been a staple in Ellwood City since 1950. So as we approach our 68th season we are excited to begin play in late April on our newly renovated Friedhoff Field in the Ewing Park Sports Complex.” Signup information…


Ellwood VS. Riverside Tickets on Sale

Student tickets for this Friday’s, Ellwood City Boy’s Varsity Basketball Game versus Riverside are on sale in the high school office. The cost is $2 per ticket. No student tickets will be sold at the door for this game. All tickets at the door will be $5 general admission and $1 for senior citizens.

Ellwood City Wolverines Lose to Farrell

Although Anthony Roth put 14 points on the scoreboard, Lincoln fell to Farrell 45-43 Wednesday night in non-section play.   Kyi Wright connected on a driving shot with under five seconds the play that turned into the game winner for Farrell. Ellwood City Wolverines scored early in the game, boasting a 19-18 lead at the half, but Farrell ultimately came back for the victory after trailing by three points entering the final frame.  Wright finished with a game-high 21 points for Farrell (10-18 shooting, 8 rebounds). Ellwood City Wolverines Notch Win Against Mohawk Area

Lincoln won 66-54 against Mohawk Area on Tuesday with the help of Broc Boariu, who scored 22 points. Ellwood City Wolverines pulled away early with a 22-point first quarter after an impressive 22-2 run, eventually claiming a 36-20 lead by halftime. With a field goal percentage of 47% (7-for-15), Boariu had a great game from the field, also sinking 50% (6-for-12) of threes attempted. Weekly High School Basketball Team Recaps

This week the Ellwood City Boys Varsity team played a very close game against Rochester, defeating them by a mere two points. Rochester took the lead in the second quarter but Ellwood regained control in the third and fourth, ending the game with a close 64-62 victory. Forward Sean Busby was recognized as the “player of the game.” Tonight the Ellwood City Wolverines will face off against their long-time rival, the Panthers at Riverside High School. Ellwood City Wolverines Defeat Rochester

Ellwood City defeated Rochester 64-62 on Wednesday after an evenly matched game that saw neither team lead by more than six points. After the game worked its way to another tie late in the fourth quarter, Ellwood City used back to back three-pointers from Anthony Roth and Broc Boariu to stretch out to their biggest lead in the contest at 56-50. Ellwood City’s pre-Christmas game against New Brighton, 12/22/2017 Despite Anthony Roth putting 26 points on the board, Lincoln lost to New Brighton 52-50. New Brighton (PA) locked in the win in the fourth quarter on a three pointer from Thomas Kirby. Munhall, PA– Lincoln won 55-42 against Steel Valley on Wednesday with the help of Anthony Roth, who scored 25 points, including 17 points in a decisive 3rd quarter for the Wolverines.
