PHOTOS: Winter Wonderland in Ellwood City

You either love it or you hate it, but regardless of how you feel about the snow there’s no denying it has blanketed Ellwood City overnight. Last year during December we had hardly any snow and the average temperatures were in the 50’s and upwards. Despite this year’s snow, there are many townspeople out and about, some cleaning their cars off and others going in and out of the stores on Lawrence Avenue. Winter Weather in Forecast

You may have noticed a couple snow flurries flying around this morning, which is just the start to the winter weather season. According to the 10-day weather forecast on Weather.com snow showers are expected in the upcoming weeks. Important things to keep in mind: it might be warm enough to rain during the day but the rain may freeze over night causing black ice, bridges ice before roads, and the new anti- dog tethering law is in effect this winter for the first time.
