Lincoln High School Pie Festival, Riverside Panther Night This Week!

Both Ellwood City and Riverside school districts will kick off their respective back to school seasons with community events on Thursday, August 25th. Ellwood City will host its annual Lincoln High School Marching Blue Band Pie Festival at the high school gymnasium. Doors for the Pie Festival open at 6:00 p.m., and the show starts at 7:00 p.m.. The band will perform selections from their 2022 pre-game and halftime shows, all fall sports teams will be introduced, and you can eat pie. There will be delicious Amish fried pies thanks to our generous sponsor, The Dr. Rita Hazen Education Foundation….

After a year hiatus due to COVID-19, the annual Lincoln High School Pie Festival and fall sport festivities returned to Helling Stadium Friday evening. The marching band performed their 2021 pre-game and halftime shows and all fall sports teams were introduced. Two local events this week kick off the back to school season and highlight the fall sports season. With the chance of inclement weather in the forecast Thursday evening, the annual Lincoln High School Pie Festival was moved indoors to the Lincoln High School gymnasium.  The move did not impact the band who entertained those in attendance with tunes to help roll out the 2019-20 school year while fall sports teams were introduced. The celebration and introductions were coupled with hundreds of custom pies baked and donated by Debbie’s Delicious Desserts.  All proceeds benefited the Lincoln High School Marching Blue Band.

If data metrics can be measured with pieces of pie, approximatley 750 people showed up to watch the Lincoln High School Blue Band perform their 2018 pre-game and halftime perfromances last night at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park.  The band performed its traditional pregame set list consisting of the drumline’s cadence, the Lincoln High School alma mater, the “Star Spangled Banner”, and “Fanfare” – a tribute to our U.S. military.  The halftime show featured songs such as “Paint it Black”, “ Mr  Roboto”, and “Bad Romance”. Schedule of Events: Pie Festival

The Annual Pie Festival hosted by the Lincoln Blue Band will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23 at Helling Stadium. The gates will open at 6 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m. This is a special event to kick off the Blue Band’s fall entertainment. All Blue Band members and fall sport team members will be announced. Pie is limited first come first served.
