Scholarship Available to Students Pursuing Education in Construction or Trades

Monaca, PA – The CCBC Foundation recently announced the establishment of the William R. Minton Scholarship Fund. A generous gift from William Minton’s surviving wife, Abigail Minton and her family, the scholarship celebrates the legacy of Mr. Minton. The $20,000 endowed scholarship is available to students pursuing an education in construction or the trades in programs such as CCBC’s Building Trade Technology Associate in Applied Science degree, which is designed to meet the workforce training needs of business and industry by recognizing college-level, on-the-job learning. Criminal Complaints: Ellwood City Man Facing Felony Theft Charges

Ellwood City Man Facing Felony Theft Charges James Allen Sawyers, 26, of Ellwood City, is facing one felony count of theft by unlawful taking and one felony count of receiving stolen property after stealing a jewelry box full of miscellaneous jewelry from a local household. According to the complaint, the resident of the household was unwell for several months and had to have caregivers in and out of the residence often. The homeowner had noticed the jewelry box missing after one of the caregivers had brought their son, who would sometimes cut the grass of the property until his services…

Holy Redeemer is hosting their New Year’s Eve Bingo on December 31, 2017 at the Catholic Center located at 311 Lawrence Avenue. Wampum, PA – Each year, the Wampum Area Christmas Parade Committee prepares floats that do not compete in the popular float contest. They like to add to parade line-up each to assure new and fresh content to complement the familiar traditions.
