Mayor Presented with Gold Watch

Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court was recognized by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association for outstanding achievements in High School athletics in his 32 years of service. He was presented with a gold watch at the Awards banquet held at the Hilton in Harrisburg on August 6, 2016. Court has officiated numerous state play-off games including Western State finals and PA State finals in his illustrious 32 year career. Mayor Presents Seventh Beautification Award

On Thursday, Mayor Anthony J. Court awarded to Pamela Bleakney of Orchard Avenue the seventh and final Beautification Award and Gift Certificate for the 2016 Season. Like all of the recipients of the 2016 Beautification Awards, her home is beautifully presented with all the summer flowers and foliage. Mayor Presents Sixth Beautification Award

On Tuesday, Mayor Anthony J. Court awarded to Margaret and Bill Atkinson of Riverside Drive the sixth presentation of the 2016 Beautification Award and Gift Certificate. Their home is beautifully presented with a variety of colorful flowers and ground foliage, beautiful landscaping that they take great pride in and it shows in their home surroundings. Mayor Presents Fifth Beautification Award

On Wednesday, Mayor Anthony J. Court presented to Stacy Stahl and Noah Robbin of Pittsburgh Circle the Fifth 2016 Beautification Award and Gift Certificate. Stacy and Noah were nominated by Joe Greco, and Stacy commented to the Mayor that “this is a dream come true.” Both Stacy and Noah were very excited over the award and thanked Joe for nominating them and thanked the Mayor for having such a great program. Mayor Court Presents Fourth Beautification Award

On Friday, Mayor Anthony J. Court presented to Judy Bokor of Spring Avenue, the Fourth 2016 Beautification Award and Gift Certificate. The Mayor was excited to present this to Judy, as once again, this was yet another first time recipients and they too were excited. Judy Bokor, like the many residents and recipients before her, take great pride in their property, and it shows in their beautiful landscape.    


Mayor Swears in Newest Full-Time Police Officer

On Thursday, June 16, 2016 Mayor Anthony J. Court performed the swearing in ceremony of Ellwood City’s most recently hired full-time police officer, Patrolman Richard Kruger. Patrolman Kruger’s transition into a full-time police officer at the Ellwood City Police Department should be minimal considering his knowledge of the policies and procedures of the department, along with his good working relationship with the other officers, as he has worked part-time at the ECPD for the past year and a half. Many congratulations were extended to Patrolman Kruger as it is believed that he will be an asset to the Department.    


Mayor Presents 3rd Beautification Award

On Wednesday, Mayor Anthony J. Court presented to Kathy and Nick Nardone of Hazel Avenue the 3rd 2016 Beautification Award and Gift Certificate. The Mayor was excited to present this to the Nardone’s as this was the first year they were recipients, and they were just as excited about receiving the award as Mayor Court was to present it. Their beautiful landscape shows that they too have pride in their hometown of Ellwood City.    


Mayor Presents Second Beautification Award

On Wednesday, Mayor Anthony J. Court presented to Nicole and John McClaren of Evans Drive the second 2016 Beautification Award and gift certificate. The McClaren’s were very appreciative for the nomination of their home for this award, and Mayor Court thanked them for taking pride in their home and in their hometown of Ellwood City.    


Mayor Court Thanks Lawrence County Commissioners

On Thursday, Mayor Anthony J. Court was treated to a tour of the new Emergency Operation Center by Director Brian Melcer and Deputy Director Jeff Parish. Mayor Court wanted to extend his appreciation to the County Commissioners Dan Vogler, Robert Del Signore Jr. and Steve Craig for their help in obtaining radios for the Ellwood City Police Department without cost to the Borough, savings of about $35,000. Mayor’s Crime Watch and Advisory Meetings Rescheduled

The May 26, 2016 Crime Watch meeting and the Mayor’s Advisory meeting have been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. The Crime Watch meeting  is rescheduled for Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. and the Mayors Advisory meeting is also rescheduled for Thursday, June 30 at 3 p.m.
