Ellwood City Wolverines Lose to Farrell

Although Anthony Roth put 14 points on the scoreboard, Lincoln fell to Farrell 45-43 Wednesday night in non-section play.   Kyi Wright connected on a driving shot with under five seconds the play that turned into the game winner for Farrell. Ellwood City Wolverines scored early in the game, boasting a 19-18 lead at the half, but Farrell ultimately came back for the victory after trailing by three points entering the final frame.  Wright finished with a game-high 21 points for Farrell (10-18 shooting, 8 rebounds). Lincoln High Graduate Named to WPCC All-Academic Team

Butler, PA– Madison Morella, a 2017 Lincoln High graduate and freshman on a Butler County Community College volleyball team that in October captured its 14th Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference title since 1977, is one of 19 BC3 fall sports athletes named to the WPCC all-academic team. Morella, who achieved high honors, was a middle hitter on a BC3 squad that posted an 18-6 record and whose WPCC crown was its ninth under coach Rob Snyder and third in a row after sweeping the Community College of Beaver County on Oct. 22. Lincoln High School Cuts Costs, No More Paper Report Cards

In an attempt to cut thousands in costs, the Ellwood City School Board has decided to stop giving out paper report cards at Lincoln High School, effective with the latest nine-weeks grading period. Parents and guardians are encouraged to instead view their child’s grades through the online platform that is already in place; those without access to the internet or who prefer the paper reports can make individual requests to the school to continue receiving hard copies. Corona D’italia Lodge #807 100th Anniversary Recap

Corona D’italia Lodge #807 celebrated the 100th anniversary of the organization of one of the first Italian Societies for women. Guided by the late John Statti, whose wife, Mary, was a polio victim, urging the women to form a social network. The Lodge began with 77 Charter members on December 31, 1917. The Charter organizers were Sylvia Bellora, who served as the first Venerable{President) Rola Pesce and Luigia Rubino. Ellwood City Wolverines Defeat Steel Valley

Munhall, PA– Lincoln won 55-42 against Steel Valley on Wednesday with the help of Anthony Roth, who scored 25 points, including 17 points in a decisive 3rd quarter for the Wolverines. Ellwood City Wolverines clinched their lead in the third quarter on a free throw from Roth. Lincoln came back with a vengeance in the final two quarters, after being behind early in the game, trailing 23-19 at the half. Class of 1954 Christmas Dinner Meeting Recap

Pudue LaCava hosted the annual Christmas Dinner for the 1954 Lincoln High School, “81 Still Having Fun” committee on Thursday, November 30 at 2p.m. at her Mt. Vernon Drive Home. The full committee in attendance enjoyed a bountiful menu of ravioli, meatballs, sausage, ham, salads, vegetable trays and many desserts, provided by members and served by LaCava and Ilene Gardner.
