MERCER – A collaboration of local manufacturers, including two from Ellwood City, working together to address shared workforce development challenges was awarded a $236,786 grant from the Industry Partnership program of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Lawrence County To Receive Funding From Marcellus Drilling Impacts

HARRISBURG – Rep. Marla Brown (R-Lawrence) today announced nearly $353,000 in impact fees paid by Marcellus Shale drilling companies will benefit residents of the 9th Legislative District. For the reporting year of 2022, natural gas producers paid nearly $279 million in impact fees statewide, for a total of $2.5 billion over the past 11 years. Lawrence County Added To Pennsylvania’s Spotted Lanternfly Quarantine

Harrisburg, PA – Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding this week announced that six counties have been added to Pennsylvania’s spotted lanternfly quarantine zone ahead of the 2023 spring hatch. Backyard Composting & Rain Barrel Workshop Planned

The Lawrence County Conservation District and the Lawrence-Mercer Recycling/Solid Waste Department are partnering on a workshop about backyard composting and stormwater management. The class is set for Tuesday evening, November 16, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  It will be held at the Albert P. Nearly $385,000 Awarded To Help Local Students Stay Connected

NEW CASTLE – Grant funding of $383,660 will help ensure students in two Lawrence County school districts don’t fall behind because they lack the tech tools to stay connected.
