Riverside Lions Busy With Donations And Fundraisers

The Riverside Lions have been busy over the last few months with donations and fundraisers according to King Lion Chip Campbell. First, the Lions donated money along with hygiene products, provided by Dr. Marion and Miracle Dental, to the Divine Grace Ministerium. “The donations were made through the Hygiene Helpers initiative supported by the Riverside Lions and will be used to buy hygiene products for some of the over 300 families supported by Divine Grace Food Bank,” says Campbell. GoFundMe for Murdered Franklin Township Man’s Funeral

Franklin Township resident, Alan Patterson, was murdered Christmas Eve – the day before Christmas and his birthday – after a dispute with his wife. According to reports, Patterson was stabbed to death outside of his trailer in Franklin Township by his wife, Krystine, who then tried to flee the scene by foot but was later caught at a neighboring trailer. Patterson’s family has since arranged a GoFundMe page to not only help with funeral costs, but also to help support the family in this time of need. Local fitness studio, BodyShop Group Fitness, will deviate from its normal schedule to host a special 3 hour hip hop inspired workout with the aim to help with the relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey. Two weeks ago, Texas was hit with unprecedented rainfall from Hurricane Harvey. While most of the immediate needs of food and water are being met, thousands of families are returning to find their homes nearly destroyed by the damage and practically uninhabitable. Fundraising for Local High School Student in Pool Accident

Anthony Tollari is a high school student at Riverside who was in a pool-related accident nearly two weeks ago that has left him partially paralyzed. “After a Colt League Championship baseball defeat, Anthony was at his home, and dove into his pool. He landed extremely awkward, and broke his neck. He was rushed to the hospital, and had to have emergency surgery to save his life. Anthony is now in a facility for at least two months to attempt to regain his feeling and mobility,” his GoFundMe page states.
