According to the NWS Pittsburgh, Thursday brought 2.77″ of rain shattering a 90-year-mark, and Thursday was the 25th wettest day on record (records back to 1871) for the Pittsburgh area.  This is already the 3rd wettest April on record according to NWS Pittsburgh records. The 4th Annual Clean Up Event has been schedule for Saturday, April 13th and Sunday, April 14th for River Road in Franklin Township. Franklin Township Announces 2024 Clean Up Day

Clean up your yard, clean up your home, and clean up your garage! Franklin Township residents are invited to participate in a township clean-up day planned for Saturday, May 4, 2024. According to information made available by the township, the Franklin Township Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 regarding a rezoning request. The hearing will be related to a property owner who owns two parcels of property along Route 288 across from Creek Meadows and where the Mexican Restaurant used to be. Sharing Library Now Available In Franklin Township

The Lauten family has generously donated a Sharing Library. The Library is located outside the front of the Franklin Township building on Route 288. “This library is for the community,” reads a statement from the township. “If you see a book you would like to read, feel free to take it with you. Franklin Township Looking To Hire Police Chief

Franklin Township is currently accepting applications to fill the position of a full-time Police Chief. According to the township, it is recommended that applicants have 10 years or more of continuous experience in law enforcement and 5 years or more of continuous experience as a Second Line Supervisor, and an associate degree or better in Police Science or related field of experiences which demonstrate police management.
