Yesterday, House Bill 2030, which modifies the Ellwood City borough electric department, passed in a 106-89 vote. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine, R-10, New Beaver, will now pass to the state senate. The bill will prevent the borough from transferring funds from the electric department to the General Fund and includes additional provisions for consumer protection. The bill’s language limits its impact to boroughs providing electric to more than one county. Frank J. Wehman, 75, of Ellwood City passed away peacefully after an extended illness on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Passavant Lutheran Senior Life in Zelienople. Born August 30, 1941 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Alvi Charles Wehman and Violet M. Wiley Luchka. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph H. and Michael Wehman, his sister, Sherry L. Weigel, and step brothers, Donald and Richard Pitts, and step sister, Loretta Marshall.
