The Lawrence County Hard to Recycle event will be on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10a.m.-1p.m. Things that can be recycled are appliances, batteries, electronics, fluorescent lights, household hazardous wastes, and tires. Below is a list of items and the cost to recycle them.


Mayor Court Presents Commendation to Local Resident

Mayor Court was honored to present a Commendation to Ann Tammaro, a life long resident and friend to many people in Ellwood City. The Holy Redeemer 5lst Annual Bazaar started Wednesday, August 2 and will run through Saturday August 5. The excitement and fun begin at 6:00 p.m. nightly and runs until 10:00 p.m. on the Holy Redeemer Catholic Center grounds. Fundraising for Local High School Student in Pool Accident

Anthony Tollari is a high school student at Riverside who was in a pool-related accident nearly two weeks ago that has left him partially paralyzed. “After a Colt League Championship baseball defeat, Anthony was at his home, and dove into his pool. He landed extremely awkward, and broke his neck. He was rushed to the hospital, and had to have emergency surgery to save his life. Anthony is now in a facility for at least two months to attempt to regain his feeling and mobility,” his GoFundMe page states. Mayor Meets with Residents on National Community Night Out

On Tuesday, August 1, 2017 Mayor Anthony J. Court and Lt. David Kingston of the Ellwood City Police Department participated in “The National Community Night Out” meeting and greeting residents throughout Ellwood City. PennDOT to Start Suspending Vehicle Registrations for Unpaid Tolls

The new state law, Act 165, which was approved last fall, takes effect this Friday. Any drivers with unpaid tolls greater than $500 or who have at least six toll violations are at risk for vehicle registration suspension. As part of a limited time amnesty offer, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will waive fees for anyone who settles their debts before the deadline of 7p.m. Friday, and for anyone who has had the debts sent to a collection agency the turnpike will waive half of the associated fees. Ride to Benefit Special Needs Children

The God Chasers Motorcycle Club is hosting their annual ride to benefit children with special needs on July 29, starting at 12p.m. Every penny of the funds raised goes to the Lawrence County Special Olympics.
