Free Public Wifi Hotspot to be Installed at Pittsburgh Circle Playground

By early October Circle Playground should have public wifi installed courtesy of Armstrong Cable. This will be the third borough-owned property in the community to have free public wifi. The other two areas are the Community Plaza on Lawrence Avenue and the public pool at Ewing Park. BodyShop To Host Jam-A-Thon: Hurricane Harvey Benefit Sept 14, 2017

Local fitness studio, BodyShop Group Fitness, will deviate from its normal schedule to host a special 3 hour hip hop inspired workout with the aim to help with the relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey. Two weeks ago, Texas was hit with unprecedented rainfall from Hurricane Harvey. Little Beaver Historical Society Fall Festival

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will host its annual picnic beginning at 6 p.m. Sept. 11 in Ewing Park’s shelter No. 8, which is located in the back loop of the park. First Game of Season: Wolverines Vs. Central Valley

The Ellwood City Wolverines football team will be challenged by Central Valley this Friday during their first official match of the season. The game will be played at Helling Stadium and presale tickets are now being sold. Tickets can be purchased at the high school’s main office today, Thursday 8/31, from 7:30 am – 3:00 pm and tomorrow, Friday 9/1, from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. Big Knob Grange Fair Starts Today

The seventy-fifth annual Big Knob Grange Fair starts today, August 29 and goes though September 2 at their Rochester location, 336 Grange Road, 15074. Calvin Presbyterian Church Hosting GriefShare Program

No matter what the circumstances, grief recovery is a painful process, and that’s why Calvin Presbyterian Church hosts GriefShare seminars, a support group to help those grieving. The program will be facilitated by Ginny Brest and the first session is scheduled for Sunday, September 10 from 1:300-3:30 p.m. in the church parlor. The group will meet each Sunday afternoon for 13 weeks, concluding on December 3 . While participants are encouraged to complete the 13-week program if possible, attendance is not mandatory each week.
