The Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation (ECABF) will host a weekly winter clinic set to begin Sunday, January 14th. Registration is open for 2024 Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation spring baseball and continues through February 11th. Register early and take advantage of volunteer fee discount Six levels of league play are Tee Ball (age 4-6), Farm (age 7-8), Minor (age 9-10), Little League (age 11-12), Pony League (age 13-24), and Colt League (age 15-17). Registration is now available for the Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation’s (ECABF) 2023 Fall Ball season. The season will be six to eight weeks at four area locations with four levels of league play. The season is schedule to take place August 26th/27th until October 20th/21st. Field locations include Friedhoff Field, Ellwood City; Rosannah Field, Ellwood City; Shenango Athletic Complex, New Castle; and Union Fields, also in New Castle. 74th Little League Season Opens Tuesday

The Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation will open its 74th season on Tuesday. The Moose hosts Shenango at Freidhoff Field at 6:00 p.m. in the Lawrence County Little League opener. The Ellwood City Little League, which started in 1950, was the first Little League program in Lawrence, Beaver, Butler and Mercer Counties. Ellwood City has three teams competing in the 2023 campaign: The Moose, the Lions and the Wolves in the 16-team league. Ellwood City, Neshannock and Laurel each have three entries apiece. UPDATED April 21st 11:32 a.m. — The opening day parade and ceremony has been postponed untiled next Saturday, April 29th due to weather forecasts. The schedule of events will remain the same Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation (ECABF) will hold its opening day ceremony on Saturday April 22nd. The Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation (ECABF), one of western Pennsylvania’s oldest amateur baseball programs, held their 73rd Annual Opening Day on Saturday at the Ewing Park Baseball Complex. Players from the Little League, Minor League, Farm League and Tee-Ball League participated in a parade to Freidhoff Field-the home of the first Little League program, in Lawrence, Beaver, Butler and Mercer counties. Seventeen teams, led by Mayor Anthony Court, were greeted by the Ellwood City Wolverines’ Head Coach Chris Weisz, his staff and varsity players. 68th Ellwood City Little League Tournament Begins This Week

The 68th Ellwood City Little League Tournament, the oldest tournament in the area, began Tuesday night at Friedhoff Field in Ewing Park. New Brighton squared off against Neshannock on Tuesday in the opening game. Ellwood City will meet Saxonburg on Wednesday at 6:00 PM.  Ellwood City will be seeking its first championship since 2008.  Wilmington collected the tournament championship last year while Riverside has been crown champion three times in the last 10 years. It’s that time of year again – the Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Registration (ECABF) is looking for players for the upcoming season.  Registration is currently ongoing and will be open until March 8, 2019 for the spring baseball season. The 2019 ECABF Spring Baseball campaign will be the 69th season of youth baseball in Ellwood City.
