Ariana Garroway was an RBI machine on Monday, driving in four runs on three hits while Natalia Greco slugged a homerun to power the Wolverines past North Catholic 9-6 on Monday. Garroway drove in runs on a grand slam in the first as the Wolverines batted around and raced out to an early 9-0 lead at home. North Catholic scored five runs in the third inning, but Wolverines still managed to pull out the victory. Garroway went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Wolverines in hits. Varsity Softball Knocks Off Previously Unbeaten Avonworth Record Now 8-4 Avonworth walked into Stiefel Park with an unblemished 13-0 record and were ranked as the #1 team in WPIAL Class 3A. Varsity Softball Team Defeats Beaver Falls; Improves To 3-1 After spotting the Tigers a 2-0 lead on two singles and two errors in the top of the first, The Lady Wolverines would score the next 17 runs to win the three-inning mercy rule shortened game by a final of 17-2. After a losing effort on Thursday against Ambridge, the Lady Wolverines got back to their winning ways on Saturday afternoon as they beat Shenango 14-2 on the Wildcats home turf.  The game was much closer than the final score as the Wolverines held a slim 3-2 lead until the fifth inning. Lincoln High School Senior Ariana Garroway has decided to continue her softball career by signing with Robert Morris University. Leading up to this opportunity has been years of hard work in her varsity softball career. Within the past three years, Garroway had proven herself to her coach multiple times. Sean Busby Shuts Out Mohawk Area, Wolverines Take The Win. Sean Busby didn’t allow a single run as Ellwood City Wolverines defeated Mohawk Area 3-0 on Tuesday. Busby allowed just one hit. The pitching was strong on both sides. Busby struck out nine, while Cummings sat down zero.
