The Annual Ellwood City Easter Egg Hunt returned to the grounds of Ewing Park on Saturday, this year under new guidance. The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2023 Easter Egg Hunt event after the prior committee retired and turned the event over to the new guidance. The free community event was most hippity-hoppity and featured pony rides, petting zoo, face painting, and of course – egg hunting!  The event handed out over 15,000 eggs! The Ellwood Area Egg Hunt Committee is announcing their retirement. With their 27th Annual, and final, Community Easter Egghunt completed last year, the committee has retired and has turned the event over to new guidance. The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce will now be hosting the community Easter Egg Hunt event. This year’s event will take place Saturday, April 8th as their 1st Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt. Scheduled to take place at 11:00 a.m. in Ewing Park for all area children ages 10 and under, this year’s Easter Egg Hunt will run the same as in the past…

A rainy forecast did not deter hundreds of hoppy-go-lucky kids from taking part in the annual Ellwood City Easter Egg Hunt in Ewing Park on Saturday. The event started at 11:00 a.m. amid overcast skies and ran throughout the early afternoon with hunts for all ages. Additional events included a petting zoo, pony rides, trackless train, and a Kid’s Zone in the Rotary Shelter, which featured crafts, face painting, games and various other activities in the Bocce Court will be games. The days event are provided through The Ellwood Area Egg Hunt Committee.


Annual Ellwood City Easter Egg Hunt Returns!

The Easter Bunny Is Back. The 27th Annual community Easter Egg Hunt is set to return to an in-person event in April! After COVID safety concerns cancelled the event entirely in 2020 and later forced a drive-thru only event in 2021, the event will return to Ewing Park on Saturday, April 9, 2022. “We are working on so much to make up for the two years we didn’t get to hold our event,” says committee member Kathy Brenner. Ellwood City To Host Easter Treat Bag Hand Out

This year marks the Ellwood City Area Easter Egg Hunt’s 26th community event and this year things will be slightly different. Due to COVID-19 and continued safe social distancing practices, this year’s event has been changed to a drive thru event where treat bags will be handed out. “Instead of doing 25 Golden Eggs this year we are going to do something different,” said committee member Kathy Brenner. “This year we are going to put a theme to our event – An Easter Parade.” Have your child(ren) help you decorate your vehicle and get a slip to enter a contest…


Ellwood City Annual Easter Egg Hunt Cancelled

According to information made available this afternoon, the 25th Annual Easter Egg hunt has been cancelled. In a statement from the committee, and due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Ellwood City Area Egg Hunt has to cancel this year’s community Easter Egg hunt that was suppose to take place on Saturday April 4, 2020. 25th Annual Ellwood City Easter Egg Hunt Date Announced

Ellwood Area Egg Hunt Committee will be holding its 25th community Easter Egghunt for all area children ages 10 and under. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, April 4th, starting at 11:00 a.m. in Ewing Park. Every year hundreds of children swarm the park grounds to enjoy a spring day with lots of eggs, candy, and prizes for all participants. This year will be no different as 10,000 Easter Eggs will be handed out this year along with special events and special prizes to honor the 25th year anniversary. Hundreds of children, of all ages, swarmed the Ewing Park grounds on a spring-like Saturday for the 24th Annual Ellwood City Easter Egg Hunt. According to their social media page, “[the hunt] had roughly 720 children lots of candy got handed out.along with cookies from Eat N Park. This was one of the best attendance we have had in a long time. The support we got from our community was amazing” The free event featured over 9,000 colored eggs and 30 golden eggs handed out. This past weekend marked the 23rd Annual Community Easter Egg hunt which took place in Ewing Park for ALL area children ages 10 and under. This year the committee added one extra hunt to the event, a special hunt for Special needs and handicapped children.  In total, over 8,000 eggs were distributed through the various hunts along with 25 golden eggs that were redeemed for special prizes. Word Alive Church Holding Easter Egg Hunt

For those still planning their Saturday, Word Alive Church will be having an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24th from 1pm-3pm. In addition to the egg hunt, there will be decorated cookies, face paintings, snacks, games, and crafts. There will also be a bouncy house and an Easter Story.
