Carnegie Free Library Fall Fundraiser

The Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls is hosting A Novel Event, featuring local authors’ books for sale and signing. The date of the event is Saturday, Nov. 18 – the same day as the Beaver Falls Business Open House. “What makes this doubly exciting is that the Beaver Falls Businesses are having an Open House on the same day,” Jean Barsotti, MSLS, Director stated. The five-hour event includes a variety of raffle baskets, and cookies and beverages for sale to supplement the author book signing. More event information is on the flyer below.


Lemon Toss Challenge: “More Than Just a Fundraiser”

As part of childhood cancer awareness month, two local teachers have decided to take part in raising awareness and funds for the cause by organizing a lemon toss challenge at the Wolverines, Beaver Falls football game this evening. Former Panther Standout Named GLIAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year

Tiffin University right-hander Michael Boswell finished his rookie campaign with five wins in 11 appearances, helping the Dragons post their best winning percentage in program history. For his efforts, Boswell was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Freshman Pitcher of the Year, the first time a Tiffin player has ever taken the award. Boswell finished second on the team in innings and wins, and averaged 8.02 strikeouts per nine innings. Rep. Aaron Bernstine Endorses Mayoral Candidates

Today, State Representative Aaron Bernstine formally endorsed incumbent mayoral candidates Anthony Court of Ellwood City and George Quay of Beaver Falls.  Both Court and Quay will be on the Democratic ballot in the primary election to be held on May 16th.  Both mayors are also seeking write-in votes to secure positions on the Republican ticket for the general election in November. Family literacy programs can provide opportunities for education success for parents and children.  These programs can serve as models of family involvement, showing how families can become part of an extended classroom and build on the work of the school.  Engagement in family programs does not have to stop because a parent is incarcerated.
