Wrestling standout Austin Walley was presented a plaque during the June 3rd Wolves Club meeting. This plaque is a commemoration towards the seniors accomplishment of becoming Lincoln High School’s first ever champion in the PIAA Class 2A State Wrestling Championship. Walley Wins PIAA State Championship, First For LHS

Austin Walley is a state champion. The Ellwood City senior became the first to bring home a PIAA Wrestling Championship for Lincoln High School as he a victory over Dylan Bennett of Montoursville Area HS to claim gold on Saturday. Walley Earns WPIAL Gold, Advances to PIAA Championships

Ellwood City’s Austin Walley advanced to the PIAA Wrestling State Championships in Hershey in March by placing 1st overall in the 182-pound weight class at the Southwest Regional Championships held at IUP last weekend. Walley used a 7-4 decision victory to defeat Patrick Cutchember of Quaker Valley. Ellwood City senior standout Austin Walley collected his first WPIAL Championship over the weekend at the 2020 WPIAL AA Championship in Canon-McMillan, bringing home the first-ever WPIAL title for Ellwood City wrestling. Five Ellwood City wrestlers earned places at the 2020 Ed Driscoll MAC Wrestling Championships on Saturday. Austin Walley used four consecutive victories, culminating with a pin over Tristan Larson of Moon Area to capture the 195-pound championship. Walley Places Third At Powerade Tournament

Ellwood City senior Austin Walley placed third at 195 pounds at the annual Powerade Wrestling Tournament at Canon McMillan High School. Walley used victories in his first three matches to advance to the semifinals on Saturday, only to suffer his only loss early by way of a major decision to Nicholas Feldman of Malvern Prep. Feldmen was later defeated by Luke Stout (Mt. Lebanon) in a 3-2 decision in the 195-pound championship. The Ellwood City Wolverine wrestling team improved to 2-0 in the Section and 2-0 Overall on Thursday with a 48-15 victory over the Beaver Bobcats. Wrestlers Bring Home Four Medals In Weekend Tournament

The Ellwood City Wolverines wrestling team traveled to Hermitage on December 6 and 7 to compete in the 12th Annual Hickory Invitational Tournament which featured 24 teams competing. The team brought home four medals from the event: Ben Gallenz (Riverside High School competing on the Ellwood team through a co-operative agreement), 5th place, 106 pounds; Ryan Nazari, 8th place, 138 pounds; Austin Walley, first place, 195 pounds; and Rodney Grymes, 7th place, 220 pounds. Wrestling standout and Ellwood City student-athlete Austin Walley has signed his letter of intent to wrestle at Bucknell University.  Walley signed Wednesday morning at Lincoln High School as part of NCAA Division 1 National Signing Day. Walley finished his junior season with a 36-5 overall record and finished 4th overall in the 182-pound weight class in the PIAA Class AA Wrestling Tournament held at the Hershey in March.
